Offerings at Wellness Movement
Be empowered to take an active role in your own health care
Restorative Exercise
Restorative Exercise is the movement education you wished you had learnt years ago. It is a whole-body approach to learning how you move, restoring lost movement through corrective exercises and then applying these new skills to our whole lives, not just within the exercise setting.
Feldenkrais
Feldenkrais improves the brain's capacity to organise movement, allowing you to move with greater ease, power and confidence. It has the potential to enhance any activity in life that involves movement.

Experience the benefits in a group class or in a personal session (hands-on).

Massage
Holistic/Classic/Swedish massage uses a mixture of techniques to work on the soft tissues of the body - to relieve stress (emotional or physical), release tension and further general well-being.
Naturopathy
Naturopathy seeks to treat the cause of any health imbalance rather than just the symptoms, through a variety of methods including nutrition and lifestyle advice and sometimes supplementary vitamins and minerals, herbal medicine, and body work.
Herbal Medicine
Herbal medicine is the traditional healing form of all cultures and is still recognised in many parts of the world as the first medicine. Modern science increasingly supports the use of herbs for health as we come to understand their gentle yet effective nature. Treating the whole person and addressing many health conditions, herbal medicine has incredible potential to restore wellness and vitality.
Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy
Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy is a gentle yet profound non-invasive, hands-on treatment for the whole body. Performed on a massage table, the client remains fully clothed and the touch is light and still. The treatment focuses on supporting the health of the whole being, especially the nervous system.
Wellness Workshops
Watch for updates! Wellness Movement welcomes the sharing of knowledge and experience through one off or regular workshops. These are a great way to dip your toe into the waters of a new subject, or deepen your understanding of a topic. Our resident practitioners, or guest teachers from afar, will be presenting an exciting array of inspiring and cutting edge material.
Herbal Dispensary
Our foyer area is home to The Nelson Herbal Dispensary. Here you can have a short over-the-counter chat with a herbalist to address an acute health condition and have a herbal tincture formulated on the spot, or pick up a herb tea, shampoo bar, or tonic vinegar among other things. Find a cool Chia drink in the fridge for after your movement session.
Reflexology
A lovely, relaxing treatment that promotes well-being and can also assist in the healing of ailments. Reflexology recognises that the anatomy of the body is reflected on reflex zones on the feet. Reflexology works by stimulating these reflex points through precise movements, to help bring about balance and trigger the body's natural response to heal and relax.

Polarity Therapy
Polarity Bodywork sessions are conducted fully clothed and involve soft touch as well as point specific touch, with the intention of supporting our natural health. A gentle & nurturing session focused on energetic balance & bringing one back to center.

FREQUENT QUESTIONS
1
Are the classes you offer suitable for every skill level?
Most classes are suitable for beginners. We also have specialist advanced yoga classes. Your teacher will advise you on the appropriate movement for your body. There is no pressure to 'perform'.

2
How do I choose a class that is right for me?
We suggest you try every style – it's the best way to find yours. Our teachers and practitioners all offer something a little bit special, and of course differ from each other in their approach.
(For more information on the different styles of Yoga in particular, see our page Yoga Defined)
3
What are your Prices?
All our teachers & practitioners work independently. Check on their individual Bio Page for a list of Prices and Concessions for their class, or particular modality session rate in the Wellness Clinic.
In general in the Yoga & Movement studios, classes range from $10 - $18 per class with '10 class' concession passes offered from some teachers.

4
How long are classes?
An average movement class or wellness session takes 60 minutes. We also have 50 minute lunchtime sessions and 90 minute classes. Ashtanga yoga offers flexible start times within their timeframe. Check the timetable to find out more.
5
Do you have EFTPOS, Credit card facilities at Wellness Movement? How do I pay?
Some teachers & practitioners have mobile EFTPOS and other take cash or payments online.
6
How do I go about booking a massage, counseling session or other natural & holistic health appointments?
At this time Wellness Movement does not provide a reception service or central booking system. Check on the practitioner's profile page for contact details and book directly with them.
7
Do I need to bring my own mat?
We always encourage people to bring their own mats although we do have a supply of mats and equipment available to use. We also have quality, eco-friendly yoga mats for sale.
8
What do I wear?
Dress comfortably for stretching and movement. We ask that you avoid perfumes and scented deodorants. Remove your shoes before entering the studio. It is good etiquette in a movement class to arrive clean. We have shower available. And of course, please turn your phone off.
9
What is the studio like?
Wellness Movement is a light, airy space with an urban loft vibe. Our beautiful wooden floors speak for themselves (literally!)
We know that it will be exciting to be here, you'll be inspired by your sessions, and catching up with friends and meeting new people. That's what Wellness Movement is all about.
10
Do I have to be quiet?
Because we have FOUR spaces – two movement studios, a consultation room and a retail area, there may be lots going on.
So...please keep your voice low in our space. Embrace quietude. Imagine that there may be a massage going on, or a deeply relaxing yoga session next door. Yes, Wellness Movement is mindful space, aware of others - so quiet is required at times.
